On the 5th June 2024, Big Smoke Brass - UK had the distinct pleasure of performing at a corporate event for KPMG at the iconic Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich, London. This wasn't just any gig for us; it was a heart-warming return to the very place where our journey began eight years ago.
Bringing Brass Band Pop Covers to Life
We performed two lively sets filled with brass band pop covers that captured everyone's attention right from the off. Our roaming brass band moved through the crowd, bringing the music straight to the guests and making sure no one missed out on the fun. There's something magical about seeing people light up when they hear their favourite songs reimagined by a brass band.
Performing in the Painted Hall: A Honourable Experience
The highlight of the night was performing in the stunning and historic Painted Hall. The grandeur of the Hall, combined with its amazing acoustics, made our performance even more memorable. We might have been a tad loud for an event where people were supposed to be networking, but hey, who can resist turning up the volume when the vibes are that good?
A Special Connection to the Venue
The Old Royal Naval College is more than just a beautiful location; it's where we, as students of Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, first came together as a band. Returning to this historic site brought back so many memories and added a special touch to our performance.
